right click on the Comp Window header > Enable Auto-keyframe:

 

Why is this Stop Watch not visible all the time to toggle on/off?

    I just found it now and think it would be usefull, like in C4D. It's on all the time 🙂

    It was removed because barely anyone actually used the auto-keyframing after it was introduced in 2015 or so. It's for all intents and purposes a messy feature that creates way too many unintentional keyframes.
