"Handwriting" tool in AVID DS

I loved using the "handwriting" freehand stroke feature found inside the graphics tool in Avid DS. I wish a similar tool could be added to Adobe After Effects.  It makes masking scripty fonts for 'handwriting' on screen so easy.
