Improve audio playback

We really need improved and reliable audio playback. I am struggling right now on a project that needs precise audio syncing and the audio stops or stutter or disappear even on a full-green timeline.

We’ve lived with this for years, I think it’s time to give the audio playback some attention, it’s a very important part of every project and must be reliable. 

So I’d like to see: improbed audio playback and maybe some audio improvements like some way to quickly manage audio transitions/fades (no keyframe at -60db anymore please!) or some way to add automation with points in the waveform for quick audio editing directly in after effects like in NLE editors. Also waveform loading and display can be improved (now very slow and not very clear waveform).

I hope one day I can stop to rely on premiere for all the audio editing and do most of the job direcly in after effects. Now it’s not reliable enough.
