Is there still no way to navigate to previous and next markers regardless of their label?

I can't imagine trying to edit without using comp markers all along the timeline. I am starting to think I must be an odd bird. When working in After Effects I feel like I'm trying to edit with my feet, when I want to jump through a series of continuous markers either forwards or backwards but I CAN'T. Yes there are workarounds. I don't find it empowering to have to keep the labels "1", "2", "3".... if I want direct access, but I guess it's better than not. What do you folks use instead of descriptive markers? Text layers?

Sincerely,

- DK

Also from the "edit with your feet" book, with Avid Media Composer to go ahead, say 8 frames, I would use the num pad: +8 and be 8 frames ahead. Is there a similar way to navigate the timeline in AE?

Thanks for the reply. It's just surprising that the functionality of markers in AE is much smaller than in PP and a downright shortcoming IMO. I realize they are different tools, but efficient navigation is vital in both.

If the regular J & K keys which moves the Current Time Indicator (CTI) to pertinent points of selected layer(s) works for you then you may want to send in a Feature Request for those keys to also work with Comp Markers. An alternative is for a Shortcut to invoke a Jump to Marker dialog from which you can select one Comp Marker from a displayed list of existing Comp Markers. HTH
