Make it possible to create a keyboard shortcut for "Separate Dimensions" on selected objects

Although I know they have made an option to have Ae open with "Separate Dimensions" on position values by default with the latest release (THANK YOU!!), even with this selected, there are some items that you still have to go in and manually switch to "Separate Dimensions" (PSD files, nested shapes within layers, etc).

I do this every single time I animate the position of a layer or element of a layer. I would LOVE to have the capability to make a hotkey for this.

thank you!

I think we may be using Ae for different purposes 🙂 I come from a 3d character animation background and have no idea why I would ever NOT want this capability- haha!. I'm comfortable with operating with XYZ axis, so for me, it would be useful. I switch position over to separate dimensions every single time I animate. I don't want this to be on by default. Just the ability to make a hotkey for people like me who use this all the time. Thx!

Separating dimensions is only an efficient workflow for a few workflows. When you separate dimensions, you lose the ability to precisely control the motion path in the comp panel using bezier handles and the pen tool + Alt/Option. I separate dimensions in only about one out of every two-hundred comps I create, and those comps are usually data-driven graphs and charts.

The other problem with separating dimensions happens when you want to change the speed on either axis. Change X speed and leave Y speed alone, and the motion path will change.
