My suggestion for a salient feedback comment about the latest parametric meshes

Hi Adobe,

Great work with the new Parametric Meshes feature, the ability to create native 3D geometry (planes, spheres, cones, etc) within After Effects is something many motion designers have long been waiting for. It opens up new creative workflows and reduces dependency on external geometry tools.

One enhancement I’d like to propose: Curvature / Bend. For example, a Plane mesh should have a “bend radius” or “curve amount” parameter so you can bend the surface into a convex/concave shape without converting to generic 3D geometry or applying separate deformations. This would dramatically streamline workflows when animating curved panels, sweeping surfaces, or ribbons inside AE.

Additional suggestions to bolster the parametric mesh system:

  • Expand the library of parametric primitives (pyramid, wedge, custom profile sweep) to cover more motion-graphics use cases.

  • Deformation parameters: twist, taper, bend, inflate, built-in rather than relying on external effect chains.

Thank you for prioritising the motion-graphics community.
