Simple as that.

I work in a team of editors in both my full time job and my freelance work, so I'm often working in the latest (read least stable) version of AE.

I'm sick of only having a tiny window per year where things actually work properly before this year's new version breaks it all again.  It's too much for me and obviously too much for Adobe.

Yeah, great unless you work with a team of other editors.

I feel it exactly opposite way.. I want all those new features which are magnificent last few years after long time of stagnation..

You can just let installed latest three major versions as I do - then you are save you will be able open any project and also you can have profit from latest features.

Ps: latest stable version is usually one year back.. So, if you have AE 25, tested and rock solid stable should be AE 24. Yes, it is not, there are few bugs about reading source text, so this year it is exception from that rule and I still leaving AE23 installed.
