UI theme color customization

In After Effects versions up to 2024 it was possible to enable UI theme colorizing
via internal console/debug settings (theme colorizing).

Starting from AE 2025 this functionality has been removed or disabled,
and there is currently no way to customize UI accent / highlight colors.

This negatively affects:
– readability for long sessions
– accessibility (eye strain, color sensitivity)
– user workflow consistency across versions

Request:
Please restore UI theme color customization (even as an experimental or advanced option)
or officially expose it in Preferences → Appearance.

This feature already existed and worked before AE 2025.

      Having multiple apps open at the same time and being able to switch between them by seeing a different color in their UI would speed things up. Many-a-time I’m in the Project panel and can’t see the file I’m working on because I’m in the wrong app. I would make PPro a dark purple and AE a dark blue background so it’s distinguishable with a glance.

        2 votes total. We'll never get to that. Strange --- why can't this be changed!? why can't the user choose the color they want?
