Why isn't Adobe AE included with Claude
FORMAL CUSTOMER COMPLAINT: WHY IS ADOBE AFTER EFFECTS EXCLUDED FROM AI INTEGRATION?
To: Adobe and Anthropic
I am writing to express my dissatisfaction with the current limitations surrounding the integration of Claude AI with Adobe products, specifically Adobe After Effects.
I am a paying customer of both Adobe and Anthropic. I pay for Adobe After Effects because I want to use professional video-editing and visual-effects software. I also pay for Claude because I want to use AI to improve my creative workflow and help me accomplish more with the tools I already own.
What I do not understand is why Adobe and Anthropic allow integration with other Adobe applications while Adobe After Effects remains excluded.
Why?
If I am paying Adobe for After Effects and paying Anthropic for Claude, why shouldn't I have the ability to use Claude to interact with my installed After Effects application?
I am not asking for access to software I haven't purchased. I am not asking for free Adobe subscriptions. I am asking for AI compatibility with software that I already legitimately pay to use.
I want Claude to be able to help me:
- Create and manage After Effects compositions.
- Import and work with my own images and video footage.
- Create animations and cinematic visual effects.
- Manage layers, keyframes, cameras, and lighting.
- Build professional motion graphics.
- Automate repetitive editing tasks.
- Save fully editable After Effects projects.
These are practical creative applications of AI, not unreasonable demands.
What concerns me is that companies are promoting AI integrations and partnerships while customers are discovering that important applications are excluded.
If Adobe is willing to provide integration access to other products, why is After Effects being left out?
If Anthropic is promoting Claude as a creative assistant, why can't it provide a supported method of controlling one of Adobe's most important professional visual-effects applications?
I understand that different applications have different technical requirements. However, technical complexity should be addressed through development and collaboration, not left as an unexplained limitation for paying customers.
I want clear answers to the following questions:
- Why is Adobe After Effects excluded from the Adobe integration with Claude?
- Is Adobe deliberately withholding After Effects integration, or is this a technical limitation?
- Is Anthropic working toward direct control of Adobe After Effects?
- Are there plans to provide an officially supported integration with the installed Windows application?
- What are customers supposed to do when they have already paid for both products but cannot use them together as expected?
I also believe customers should be informed clearly about integration limitations before they invest their money based on the advertised capabilities of AI-connected creative software.
I am trying to create professional cinematic documentaries using my own creative assets. My goal is to use AI as a tool that assists my creativity, not to replace the software I have already purchased.
I do not believe customers should have to purchase additional third-party subscriptions simply because two companies have not made their products compatible.
I am requesting accountability, transparency, and a meaningful response from both companies.
Please explain why this functionality is unavailable and whether there are concrete plans to make Adobe After Effects accessible through Claude.
Customers deserve more than broad claims about AI integration. We deserve to know exactly what we are paying for and what those products can actually do.
I am paying for these tools. I want to be able to use them together.
Sincerely,
A paying Adobe and Anthropic customer
