I'd like to be able to specify that Bridge only looks at a specific drive letter (more context in the body of this)

When I plug my cameras into Bridge, it alternates between different drive letters as my cameras have 2 cards.  It alternates between card 1 (H:) and card 2 (L:) as I plug each camera in via the USB cable.

I would love to be able to specify H: to be the first drive that is selected, rather than having to check and then click or not if it isn’t… as all my images and videos are stored on H: but only images onto L: as a backup…

ALSO, it would be really useful if Bridge could be made to realise that the current dated folder which it’s already got open, had had more images saved to that folder, and not open another version of Bridge, which then needs closing - I hope someone follows, as I’m probably not explaining this too well ?!

Personally I would never "plug in a camera." Remove your card(s) and use a quality card reader together with Bridge's Photodownloader tool. There should then be no issue with drive selection.

I’ve been plugging my cameras into the computer for at least 15 years, ever since I damaged the card contacts on one and had to bin the camera because the repair would have needed a complete new motherboard - OK I suspect that’s changed now - and to replace the USB socket is just a quick simple repair.
I also do it now, as it allows me to leave the camera plugged in to charge the battery, which is what I’ve been doing for at least 6 years now, and this means I never grab the camera to find I’ve forgotten to reinstall either the battery or the SD card…

I think I’ll just struggle on the way I have done, as it sounds like a simple programming fix isn’t possible...

I don't think Bridge is capable of assigning drive letters. It is your operating system which makes such assignments. You haven't indicated what that is.

Sorry Eric, I knew I hadn’t explained this properly.

I don’t want to assign the drive letters, they’re already assigned in Windows, it’s the fact that every time I plug a camera in, Bridge automatically chooses the next drive of the two (it understands enough not to go off and select one of the other drives like the USB drives that get plugged in and out as I use them to back up) to the one it previously selected, (after I’ve plugged in and downloaded from H: it’ll then choose L: (unless I click and select H:) and then the next time it chooses H: because it thinks it’s last downloaded from L: despite me manually selecting H:…

Now do you see what I mean ?
