I disliked the new Bridge on release, and I dislike it even more now. My idea is go back to original
The re-write of Bridge, in my opinion, is the worst software product release of all time. And I have been a personal computer user since Vic-20. I disliked it then, I dislike it more now. It still lacks much of the features of the old one. It certainly in every area performs WORSE than the original version. On Mac and PC both.
- Multi-monitor support is terrrible
- Multi-window support is a joke; it didn't even have it to begin with. (Really Adobe? that's a feature?)
- Keyboard shortcuts from original are either missing or don't work. I can look them up in the new fancy keyboard shortcut UI (totally a waste IMO - looks nice, terrible to use) and they are there, but they do not work. You look up shortcuts and they don't work. Nice~!
- Slideshow is so super broken - I don't even try to use it anymore.
- Being able to switch between thumbnails and your workspace layout doesn't exist anymore
- It's so super slow. Beyond ridiculous slooooow.
It is so bad (and don't get me wrong, Photoshop has a lot of annoying issues as well - with new "features.") that I am giving up Adobe. No renewal for me. When my subscription is up, it's over. I am a professional for over 25 years and been using PS for most of that time. Adobe has turned my favorite software product into something I loathe and despise, and try to use as little as possible. I never imagined that could happen. Never.
My suggestion is to toss the entire release since the transition in the trash, and do what real pro users want: Go back to the original Bridge that they learned to know and love to use. Anyone that really uses these products would not be upset with that decision. At all.
