P: Support for Canon .CR3 Camera-matching Profiles

There is currently zero support for .CR3 camera color profiles in Lightroom... especially since the newer Canon cameras use a .CR3 format... making it difficult to get work done. Only slightly surprised that this wasnt planned for beforehand since there still isnt a 64bit version of the adobe programs that i can use on the most current version of MacOS.

I tried CF profile and it's better than adobe but still not very good.
Then I tried a 5DmkIV profile modified to work with R6, and it's much better !!

*zardoz it's probably because he don't want to match camera colors but have some of its own calibration tool, maybe a color checker.  In my case it's considerably better than Adobe colors. I'm curious, could you share some example ?

I purchased the R5 profiles from Color Fidelity and they're still considerably off.  I've contacted the author providing examples but haven't heard back yet.

Is Canon being uncooperative with Adobe? Do I need to put pressure on Canon to get this done?

Adobe Team, please hear us, we need those profiles!!!
Whoever is responsible to read it through those posts please escalate the matter, it is getting ridiculous at this point..

*Redmonk78 correct and that may be the case forever. Again, Adobe has made it clear that there is go promise to ever supply them at any time in the future.

If you are referring to CAMERA matching profiles such as camera standard, camera portrait, camera landscape, etc., Adobe has indicated that such profiles will not be provided for all models. You have the Adobe profiles, or there are third-party profiles available for purchase if you are interested. Adobe will not indicate when/if such profiles will ever be made available. Future plans are never announced.

Hello, I have a Canon R6 and I'm just wanting to know when you will be updating Lightroom to include a color matching profile for this camera?

Thank you

It has nothing to do per se with how the profiles were made (you do not need to use a 24 patch ColorChecker). It has to do with editing a profile to produce a color appearance you subjectively feels matches a JPEG from the actual raw under those conditions.

No, you might not be able to share them; they may utterly fail under conditions that differ from the original.
