Feature Request: Add More Expression Tags to Adobe Character Animator
Dear Adobe Character Animator Team,
I hope this message finds you well. I’m writing as a dedicated user of Adobe Character Animator and a content creator focused on animated AI character presentations.
While working with the current expression tagging system, I noticed that Character Animator supports only a limited set of emotional states — specifically Neutral, Smile, and Surprised. However, expressions like Laugh, Sad, Angry, Frown, Fear, and others are widely used in storytelling, education, and AI-character driven content.
I believe expanding the recognized expression tags in Character Animator would:
Allow more expressive and emotionally rich characters
Reduce the need for complex workarounds or layer naming tricks
Greatly benefit creators working in AI-driven video presentations, games, or education
For example, even just adding support for:
Laugh
Sad
Angry
Frown
Fear
...would significantly enhance the realism and variety of puppet interactions.
I hope this feature request can be considered in a future update. Adobe Character Animator is an exceptional tool, and I’m grateful for all the innovation you’ve brought to this space.
Warm regards,
Muaath
