P: (AI) Batch edting based upon a personal style

We urge you to consider a transformative feature for Lightroom: an AI-powered batch editing tool, finely tuned to each photographer's unique style. Imagine a feature that learns from an individual's editing history, creating a personalized AI profile. This tool would not only expedite batch processing but also evolve with the user's artistic growth.

An essential addition would be intelligent AI-assisted culling. This feature would automatically discern and prioritize images, streamlining the initial selection phase and focusing on quality and composition.

Moreover, the introduction of adaptive 'SmartPresets' is crucial. These presets, unlike any currently available, would dynamically adjust to each image, informed by the user's historical editing patterns, ensuring consistency and quality across varied lighting and contextual scenarios.

The integration of such advanced AI features would dramatically revolutionize the editing workflow, cutting down editing time and freeing photographers to focus on their creative pursuits. Currently, many turn to costly external solutions for these capabilities. By incorporating these features into Lightroom, Adobe has the opportunity to redefine the landscape of digital photography software, offering an unparalleled in-house solution that would render external tools obsolete.

This is not just a feature request; it's a call for Adobe to continue its legacy of innovation, to empower photographers at all levels, and to lead the industry towards a future where technology and artistry seamlessly converge.

It seems that there could be a way to upload my LR catalogs (w/ or w/o image files?) to some kind of an AI tool that would then comb through my originals and then edits to get a sense of my style and then create some kind of a pre-set for me, depending upon the image content (landscape, portrait, product, street, etc.).

See this feature request.

Several third-party services have been mentioned: Imagen AI, Batch.ai, Neruapix, and Aftershot. I don’t have experience with any of them, though I know there are (or were) a fair number of LR Classic users using Imagen AI. Last year, a bug in their not-well-designed plugin corrupted catalogs’ .lrcat-data files, causing a huge amount of grief.

Also, the resources it would take for Ai to process thousands of images would be astronomical.

Photo correction is a highly nuanced skill.  Correction settings for one photo won’t achieve the same results in another unless both photos are identical with the same deficiencies.

Ai-powered or not, batch correction sequences can only do so much before human intervention is needed to edit the photo manually.

When I have a troubled region in a photo, I select it and let GeminiPro (NanoBanana) have a crack at it. Gemini does a very decent job of correcting specific problems, but it’s not prefect in all situations.

No two snowflakes or photos are exactly alike. For that reason, I don’t know how you could package this in any meaningful way.

This is a great response, Nancy!

I haven’t yet figured out how to use AI for editing, but you have. I’ll follow your lead!

Assisted Culling is now a reality in Lightroom 15! Finally, a fix that many have been waiting for.
...not quite like Imagen AI or Aftershoot ...but there's hope!

Imagen, Aftershot, and other programs come to the rescue of photographers by integrating with Lightroom for automatic image selection and AI correction based on custom profiles created by the photographer based on their own styles.

Don't you think it would be interesting if Adobe also integrated all this into Lightroom?

Yes! I think its very important to integrate a batch processing feature in Lightroom that learns and adapts to a photographer’s personal editing style. This functionality would allow photographers to apply consistent adjustments—like exposure, contrast, and color grading—across large batches of photos, based on their established patterns and habits.
The key advantage of this is efficiency. By selecting a pre-learned personal style, photographers could drastically reduce editing time while ensuring their unique look is consistently applied. Many third-party plugins already offer AI-driven tools for this, but it’s essential for Lightroom to provide this natively to remain competitive.

This feature would be a significant enhancement, making Lightroom an even more powerful tool for professionals who need both speed and customization in their workflow.
