P: Color collections and collection sets to simplify navigation & cataloging

So confoundingly true. What will it take?

We've been screaming for this for at least seven years.  I install every new update hoping that this will finally be initiated...but it never seems to happen.  With all the competition out there nowadays, you'd think that they would honor our meager request, yet they never do.  Perhaps in the next update it'll happen, but based on the past, don't hold your breath.

You’re not the only one. You’re merely the latest one making a simple, unimpeachable suggestion that has been ignored by Adobe for years. Let’s hope that one day they will implement this capability, which was available on photo mechanic probably 10 years ago.

Am I the only one who would like to be able to give a color set label to folders.

To be able to prioritize and see the difference right away with edited folders and the one you still need to work on.

I think it will be a great add to the software.

Color coding collections, and then sorting collections by this color would be really helpful.  As a professional I have hundreds of Collections and numerous levels of hierarchical Collection Sets.  Being able to code with a color then quickly sort what I'm looking for by color code (I would set up with one color for architectural client shoots, portraits, personal work, etc) would save a lot of time digging through several levels of Collection Sets.  It would also help by making the monochrome Collections Panel interface faster to navigate visually. Apple allows you to do this with folders in Finder, something similar would be incredibly useful.

There's more than one way to make folder navigation and filtering easy.  7.2 adds a filter box in folders, and a new context menu Mark as Favorite.
