P: Export isn't resizing exactly to specified long edge

Bug report submitted by Rob Cole on behalf of Soulflare007, who was having problems with login/AdobeID...Lightroom 5's export isn't resizing exactly to specified long edge. For example, when I restrict long edge to 1920, the exported files are 1919. Same with 1024, I get 1023px files instead. If I export from Adobe Bridge, then the long edges are calculated correctly. This problem didn't happen with LR4. Files being exported were DNG and TIF.More info here: http://forums.adobe.com/message/54380...

This issue is not fixed in all cases. Consider Exportant for those cases when still a problem:

LR 5.2 fixed the issue. As far as I am concerned.

Procedure for possible work-around:
1. Save export settings as preset.
2. Open .lrtemplate file (the preset) with text editor.
3. Make the edge size 639.5 instead of 639.
PS - Let us know if that does/doesn't work for you - as you already know if you followed trshaner's recommendation above: it did work for similar problem with crop dimensions.
PPS - Problem still exists in Lr5.2 (final release)?

Got the same problem. I need an exact long size value of 639 pixels and get 638 on export.

I got the same issue with exporting images. When I export with long side set at 1000px I get images with 999px at the long side. This happens also with other export sizes.

This problem occurs since LR5. With test versions of previous LR software this bug does not occur!

There is a similar problem with the Develop module Crop tool:

http://forums.adobe.com/message/5600339#5600339

The problem occurs due to use of precision to three decimal places for the crop ratio, but only to two decimal places when entering new custom ratios. Please see post #23 at the above link for more details.

Thanks for linking my thread Brian. The issue also crops up with Image Sizing Dimensions.
