P: Export isn't resizing exactly to specified long edge

Bug report submitted by Rob Cole on behalf of Soulflare007, who was having problems with login/AdobeID...Lightroom 5's export isn't resizing exactly to specified long edge. For example, when I restrict long edge to 1920, the exported files are 1919. Same with 1024, I get 1023px files instead. If I export from Adobe Bridge, then the long edges are calculated correctly. This problem didn't happen with LR4. Files being exported were DNG and TIF.More info here: http://forums.adobe.com/message/54380...

Hello Matthias.

Yes, I always crop with the LR crop tool. I have a number of cropping presets (such as 2 : 1 or 2.5 : 1) but also use a free crop when something different is needed.

Hi Martin, I tried to follow your procedure. Resizing was working fine for me. Was the cropping done with LR crop tool on the 5716x3744 image?

I use LR 5.3 and cannot agree that this issue has been solved, at least not in my version. I have used export presets in LR for many versions to date, but never had an issue as now. My jpg export preset requires: Image Sizing - Resize to fit - Long Edge - Don't Enlarge - 35.000 cm - Resolution 200 - pixels per inch and nothing else.

Up till now all images, irrespective of aspect ratio, cropped dimensions or whatever, were correctly cropped to 2756px on the long side, with the short side reduced by the same ratio. Smaller images were left alone.

Currently, uncropped images of 5716 x 3744 are correctly resized. An original cropped to (for instance) 5587 x 2235 px is however not resized at all and is exported in the same batch at 5587 x 2235 px.

Can anyone suggest what I may be doing wrong or should alter in version 5.3?

Thanks.

I can confirm the fix for LR 5.3. The fix has not been mentioned in Adobe's bugfix list though. Anyways I'm happy it's working fine again. Thanks!

Adobe - has this been fixed? If so, consider adding to final release notes, and tagging this thread..

Yet there was no mention in the release notes / bugs-fixed section. An oopsidental omission, or is it still not fixed in some cases - hmm...

Yay, this seems to be finally fixed in the LR5.3 release candidate. Someone was listening, thanks!
