P: In the Export dialog, provide the option to add a simple borders

In the Export dialog, provide the option to add a border. Nothing fancy - any colour so long as it's black - and give control over its width in pixels. And of course, make sure too that it is added after any sharpening.

People simply shouldn't need to rely on plug-ins for this, not after 3 versions of the program.

PLEASE, can we have the facility, in Lightroom, to put a border around an image and then export it to file. It is too complicated in the Print module - and then the border never seems to be with the exported file. I need to project digital images and I'm feed up with having to export to Photoshop to use the stoke tool.

This feature exist in print mode and is interesting. It should be nice to have the same frame feature in develop mode. Or frame option in exporting module !

(just thickness and color should be fine)

It should be part of the Develop module.

I would like to see the capabilities of the Stroke command in Photoshop, just basic stuff. I am happy to go to Photoshop for more elaborate borders.

I wrote a fairly extensive javascript to do this between Bridge and Photoshop a few years ago, and I think the documentation covers what I would like to see in Lightroom.

BTW, while I use Ditto, I do not support it anymore, so if you want to use it you are on your own...

It would be very useful to be able to add key-line borders to images when exporting them from Lightroom.

for example my photo-blog has a black background, so dark images often look "lost" unless I can frame them somehow.

I am using Mogrify, but honestly don't find it great (a bit clunky, and not well integrated) and this idea seems so straightforward for Adobe to build in.

Hope this helps

John,
Do you really think that this is the kind of wording and attitude that makes people wanting to consider what you're requesting right away?

They generally don't add significant features in dot-releases.

Lets not mess around, just do the job properly and make it a "Add Picture Frame" feature. While your at it, make it available as an update for LR3 users now, instead of having to wait for a future LR4. I am suprised this wasn't put in ages ago in LR2.

Thanks, I know. The point of my request is that Lightroom users should not have to do that for as basic a task as a simple, sharp border.
