In the Export dialog, provide the option to add a border. Nothing fancy - any colour so long as it's black - and give control over its width in pixels. And of course, make sure too that it is added after any sharpening.

People simply shouldn't need to rely on plug-ins for this, not after 3 versions of the program.

If you have Photoshop select the edge of your frame and stroke it. You can control if the stroke goes inside, outside or in the center of the selection. You can also control the hardness of the stroke with the feather setting.

I think they're both in the same category of "basic features that should be a priority but whose continued absence from LR has led us to reduce our expectations.... "

Good idea, but I'd allow to select the colour.

Having said that I'd rather see basic things like a missing keyboard flow control for the temporary eraser brush fixed. It would be trivial to fix in particular in comparison to requests like this one.

And then you have a big white border too.

I'd suggest that it's one of a number of basic features that should be a priority but whose continued absence from LR has led us to reduce our expectations....

It would be handy John but I do add borders to jpegs through the print module anyway so don't see it as a high priority.

I admit, I've gone for the minimum I think necessary!

If you're going to do any width, why not any color?
If you're going to do any color, why not any texture?
If you're going to do any texture, why not any gradient?
If you're going to do any gradient, why not bevels and other treatments?

I'm just trying to get ahead on the feature request timeline here. 😉
