P: Include additional metadata in XMP (flags, collections, VC's, etc.)

Hi,

when letting Lightroom write all the picture settings to a xmp file, both the stacking and the collection settings are missing.

Basically, I'd expect to find just every work done about the picture in the xmp file (e.g. for use with other tools. If I put several pictures in collection, I'd like to use that information and the order of the pictures from other programs.)

Even worse, when making a virtual copy of a picture, it's settings do not appear anywhere in an xmp file.

regards

I don't know if it is the same issue but in Photoshop CC, generator creates blurry images when it resizes.

I have had an issue when working in a retina PSD and I want to generate an image at 200% and one at 50%. I tried " 50% image.png, image_retina.png" but it does not generate the 50% image at all.

I guess starting in retina and scaling it down should help till they fix it :)
Like 50% image.png, image_retina.png

Right now you have to create the layout under retina specs (200% to normal) and size it down to normal .... like 50% logo.png, logo_retina.png

Lots of nods here.

Apparently a fix in the latest update for Illustrator Smart Object scaling (to 200%). I guess it doesn't apply to raster smart objects... About to upgrade and see.

Scaling down is a good idea, in theory, but it doesn't produce very good results. If I have a retina PSD that has a shape with a 2px border, then I would expect the 50% output to have a 1px border. Sometimes it doesn't scale correctly and there's a 1.5px border that results in a fuzzy edge. Frustrating.

I think we should discuss this tomorrow.

Errr, no - the issue discussed here is just a small bug in generator.

It's my understanding that Generator exposes a long time limitation of the way that Smart Objects are currently rendered by Photoshop. We're working on a fix now, but because it's a Smart Object issue, it will take a fair amount of time to resolve. A potential workaround is to work at 2x and scale down.
