Feature Requests

The current error message when unable to add an image to the catelog is rather generic and does not provide actionable information to either Adobe support or the end user. More ganular error messages are required here. Was this a local file permissin error, a read error from the source device, temp file storage issue, server call issue.... where wa sthe error, and what type of error occured. When importing RAW, JPEG, and HEIC files from Apple photos the Mobile version of Lightroom imports the meta data concerning location, but does not import other metadata.  Request is to add support of importing keywords and other metadata that can be directly used by Lightroom Mobile, Desktop, and Classic.  

I prefer to only import the RAW files for images that I take with my camera, although I shoot using the RAW + JPEG settings. It would be a nice feature in Lightroom (cloud version) to add a toggle that would only allow the import of the RAW files (ignoring the JPEGs).   Right now the only approach is to add files via browse and sort the files by kind. Which works, but it would be nice if there was a more elegant solution.

It would be great to have the ability for the recipient of a shared photo library to search metadata. For example, if we shared a gallery of several hundred images (or more) with a graphic designer, rather than them having to scroll through the gallery looking for a particular subject (say a beach photo), they could search for "beach" and all beach photos would show. 

Adobe is excited to receive requests for additional features you need to enhance your workflow.   What can you do to increase the chances of being heard?  Don't use the words "Feature Request" in your post's title. Search for and add to existing feature requests rather than creating duplicates. It would be nice to have the ability to create more than one Gallery for sharing. Since Adobe creates unique links for a gallery. It would be nice if we can create multiple galleries for sharing and not just be limited to one gallery. 

Dear Adobe. Im full time photographer  and its been about 6 years when  using Adobe subscription.  For past 5 years i owned Iphone 7, and OMG. Thats phone with lightroom premium mobile did fantastic shots. And imagine my dissapointment when I bought Samsung s21 ultra and saw LRmobile doesnt support all cameras. Doesnt support long exposure shooting mode. Im begging you to make an update. Its one of the best cameraphone , sure many professionals bought it.  For me,  without LRmobile even Iphone 7 is way powerful tool

It would be greate to use the rendered image in the merge screen as a preview or placeholder while the real image is generated. I often merge multiple images, and it would be handy to have the place holder there of the jpeg (I assume) from the merge screen so I can continue working while the image file is generated.   Tim

Hi there, I recently purchased the new M1 iPad Pro . I immediately found out some features that are missing from this app compared to the desktop version that would make sense to include for the iPads to improve the workflow and usability.    When using the new Magic keyboard you can't hover over with the trackpad/cursor and adjust the given setting by +5 or -5 with the directional arrows on the keyboard. The other feature that I would find helpful is to be able to isolate the thumbnails when importing the images so you can just see one image for selecting the photos like in Lightroom classic (to check for proper focus and image quality) and to swipe through each photo.  When using the Selective Edit tool with the Apple Pencil add an option or function where you can actually see the brush size/brush feather tool so you can see where you're drawing. I just signed up the Photography Plan subscription.  To try out the sharing features in LRWeb, I created an album, added to a galley, and created a sharable link to the gallery. The photos display on the web quite nicely. In the "normal" display mode, the caption for each individual image shows up at the lower left corner, with or without the Info panel on the right. However, when switching to the slideshow or full-screen mode, the caption appears on the upper left side and the font size is very large.  It is unappealing and somewhat disrupting the image itself. If the caption is longer with many words, it runs across the image. So my question is: For the slideshow and the full screen display mode, is it possible to change the font size or even turn off the caption?   

There is no ability to "download all" images when sending albums to others with links.  There definitely used to be this feature, and its available on desktop and laptop versions but has been removed from mobiles?  This feature needs to be re-added. A large majority of clients access their albums and photos through mobile browsers and while they are able to open the images and individually download them but that is a huge issue when sharing albums even with more than 5 photos. Please add the ability when sharing album links with people to download all images, it's not only inconvient for the client but it hurts the person trying to deliver these albums especially when delivering to commercial clients or social media clients and can potentially lead to that creator losing a client.  This absolutely should be resolved within the next lightroom update.    Files attached to show that the ability to download jpegs is on, and that despite that, where there is the opt

IN LR Classic, one could mark individual photos for a mass deletion by typing an X.  In LR CC, it seems one can not do a mass delete as you can in Classic.

Hello all,   I'd like to propose a feature where you can accept the albums shared with you from the app directly instead clicking the email message with th invite.   I shared many albums with my wife and she needs to go, one by one on her email to see them. This in my opinion is a wasted opportunity to keep the users logged on the app.   Thanks, Kenneth

While LR cloud's interface is not directory based, is there some way to sync a Dropbox folder to a dedicated LR cloud album?  My wife doesn't have an adobe account and I would like to be able to combine our photos using LR cloud as a repository, but I need the ability to carve out the junk as new photos come in.  I was skeptical about the cloud version but am enjoying having access to everything from my iPad.Being able to combine, control, and sync family members' photos from different devices within a cloud repository that links with a powerful editing app would combine the unified solution of classic with the mobile access of cloudy.  That would be a big missing piece that overcomes some reluctance to switch from classic to cloudy.

I would like the ability to upload raw (or any original file) to my iPad and link them to the already existing smart previews. Currently the only way to do this is to delete the smart previews entirely and then upload the raw or original file. Or, to drag and drop from Lightroom Classic to Lightroom Desktop and wait for the sync.   Usually I need this feature in order to work remotely where I might not have access to high speed internet. Obviously this is not contusive to uploading hundreds large files. If I could do this directly from the iPad disk or better yet an external drive in would be very helpful.  

So an extremely useful and time saving feature of Lightroom classic is missing from CC and is stopping me from switching entirely (and therefore spending more on cloud hosting); the + and - hot keys that could be mapped to any adjustment to super quickly tweak a particular adjustment. In my workflow I use it to quickly adjust exposure as I go through my event photos, generally my presets get me 90% of the way there and I just need to tweak exposure a little. Currently on CC I need to lift my hand from the keyboard that I was using for navigating/rating photos to the mouse/touchscreen in order to change exposure, which disrupts my flow and increases editing time. This one small tweak would make a big difference to my workflow and in turn make me fully switch to CC.

All of my searching has led to results for Lightroom Classic. I am wanting to extract frames from videos in Lightroom and I do not see anyway to do this. When you click on Edit, you get the message "video editing not supported" and no way to extract a frame. Is this a limitation on the Desktop version of Lightroom?   This post’s title has been edited for clarity and search-ability. 

Using Adobe Lightroom - Photo Editor & Pro Camera app I can slow down the shutter speed as slow as 1s. But it's not enough for low light shoots. My device supports camera 2 API and I tried Procam x which enabled up to 6s. It would be great if Adobe Lightroom - Photo Editor & Pro camera support to slow down the shutter speed as slow as 20s.

I noticed that issue using lightroom on a Samsung Galaxy tab S7. While importing photos, lightroom checks on previously added photos to find any duplicate and if so it will skip import of the duplicate content.   The apps checks only by filename, in any case by file size or exif information.   So if you have 2 different photos bearing the same name (taken at different times), only one will be imported since the second will be considered as a duplicate of the first one.   Either you consider file size since the file date might be erroneous, or read that beautiful exif information and figure out that they are different.

Lightroom Mobile on Android   If I make some changes using, for example, the Curve tool, I want to be able to quickly see the difference between (a) how things look now and (b) how things looked before I adjusted the curve. But there's no way to do this in Lightroom Mobile on Android.   Of course, pressing and holding the screen doesn't help here because this shows the state of the image before all edits, whereas I want to see the state of the image before the current edit only. The Undo feature also doesn't help, because this undoes each curve adjustment individually. I think the only workaround is to use Versions, which is far too tedious and time-consuming.   This is such an important feature that I am surprised it hasn't been implemented yet. Its absence makes Lightroom Mobile almost unusable for me, even though I pay for it. Snapseed already has this feature. Using latest 4.4 Lightroom on Mac desktop. Filtering by "edited" doesn't work at all. My expectation of this setting is the following:  - No - no change has been made since the import of the photo Currently the "no" setting displays non-logical non-accurate results. It displays some non-edited images, but most of the others are edited (a lot).   Some background why I need this filter to work in the first place... My Hasselblad X1D photos all give "missing profile camera standard" error when opened on iOS devices. After months of long searching on the issue I found a workaround to show the Legacy camera profiles folder and add the "Embedded" one as a favourite. Now I want to filter all photos with the default Camera Standard profile and batch change it to Embedded. But this is not possible, so I had to look for other options - such as filtering by edited, which just doesn't work, hence this topic.  And while we are at it, why there's no filter or search by Camera Profile

Hello,   I would very appreciate to have some import options for pictures. When I'm travelling, I would like to only use Lightroom mobile to import, relate and sort my pictures.    When I import photos on Lightroom desktop, I always change the file name, add some keywords and change some meta data. This is not possible on the mobile version. Could you please add it, so it's possible to keep my workflow with the ipad too.   Thank you very much and best regards Melissa

I am often working images from multiple trips/events at a time. As such, each trip/event is in its own folder.By forcing me to go to all photos  I have to perform the following steps. 1. A performance hit, since my all photos is roughly 25K photos, Lr is always slow initially switching. 2. Multiple mouse and/or keyboard steps are required. 3. Performance hit waiting on Lr to filter first on "rejected" 4. Annoyance having to then select the working album as part of the filter criteria. 5. Then I can finally delete.   Would be much easier to filter on rejected within the album I am working. On the confirmation dialog ask .

When importing to cloud based Lightroom, you can see a nice little icon indicating if an image is jpeg or raw for example. It would be a huge step forward to also see if the image is rated.   I want this on the cloud based and also the mobile version as I often import images on the ipad.    Like many photographer I sometimes run in to session where I have to shoot BURST of images. I come back with thousands of images but only want to import the images I have pre selected on the camera. 

When editing a crop, and many selective editing tools, you have to select another editing panel/device to get it to apply. If you jump back to group, or deselect so you can use your mouse to move via the filmstrip or try and use the arrow keys, your crop edit is lost. Current work around: switch to another edit tool, each switch is half second or more.   Example flow: I work images in batches; so I perform all cropping of one image after another and use the arrow keys to switch images
