Uploaded "orphains" cannot be identified. They are visible in "All pictures", but not flagged as such (nor or those belonging to an album flagged as such).

What happens if you just type "Not"? Does the autocomplete offer Not in Album as an option?

Hello Richard. I did check my macbook and have LR CC 2.2 loaded. My steps taken ... went into “All Photos” and entered what you told me to enter and still do not see photos that are not in an album. What am i doing wrong?

Hi Bill,
It will only work on the desktop app at this time. Have you upgraded LR CC to the latest version? If you have you should be able to type "Album: Not in any album" in the search bar.

Sorry but it does not work on my ipad pro nor on my macbook. For those that made it work let us know specifically how to do it .... shame on Adobe for not providing a easy way of doing it .... iI switched from photos that had this feature

John,

The reason it wasn't working for Scu was because the application was running in german. The search string is dependent on the app locale (should be "Album: in keinem Album" for  german) and it is now resolved for Scu as confirmed in the discussion here.

Please try out the feature and let us know if you face any issues.

Thanks for sharing. I haven’t tried it myself yet, but am not surprised with your findings! Gosh, Adobe, it’s just a logical operation, is it that difficult to code it right?

I have tested this new feature and it does not work. The search string "Album: Not in any album" returns false results, that is: It shows pictures that definitely are in an album. But it does not show the pictures that I have removed from all albums (for the purpose of testing this new feature). This is not the software quality I expect from Adobe.

This feature was released in Lightroom CC 2.2 (Desktop) launched yesterday.

In the search bar type: "Album: Not in any album"

Enjoy
