I would like to switch to the new Lightroom CC, but being able to sort images in my collections/albums by Custom/User Order like I can in Classic is an absolute requirement for my workflow.

It would be very helpful if there was a way to manually create an order or sequence to the images in an album that is not dependent on file name or modify date, etc... Think drag and drop. .

it's killing me that they keep removing this ability... literally makes LR Mobile a nightmare to use now

I am also very frustrated by the inability to reorder pictures in an album.  WHEN is this going to be fixed!!!!  We are now into 2019 and my subscription is ticking.....

I concur.  Not really a photo organiser if you can't organise.  If I just wanted to edit I could use Photoshop.  At this rate, I can't  imagine how they can even talk about sunsetting (retiring) the Classic version.  CC should be free beta (use at your own risk) software, and I resent having my time wasted learning its limitations, shortcomings and quirks.

And again, no sign of it, 5 months after that.  I don't know if it is high enough on the list.  I would love to see the list.  Because organizing images into groupings and putting them in a logical order for us in projects etc is one of the most basic things we do as photographers.  We select and organize images to tell stories.  And yet, we are stuck with an album that can't be reorganized... except for by timestamp and file name etc...  That is a glaring omission.  (and I am a fan of all things LR, but a bit perplexed on this one).

I ran into this issue two days ago. I did a web chat with Support and found out that we now need to change from Photos view to Display view in the web app in order to rearrange photos (across top of album, see Photos  Display  Sharing). Very annoyed that they didn't make notice of that change very prominent in the app.

I also showed him this thread and let him know that I started it 12 MONTHS AGO and still no solution. He said he's escalate it to the devs. I hope that helps, but don't have high hopes.

seriously, have they even removed the custom re-order option from the web-version? That was my only work-around. First edit in lightroom computer version and then change the order via the web-version, but now they even removed this work-around! As if Adobe doesn't want you to re-order your album order, I mean COME ON!! This is like the most basic function ANY photo organise application can ever have and now people have been requesting for it for almost a year......!!!!! Adobe, if any of you ever read this, get your sh*t together and create a solution for this ASAP!!

Can Adobe make sure the simple drag & drop re-ordering option from classic is availible in LRCC in future. Its pretty basic stuff but it seriously helps to be able to put the images in alogical sequence.

Having read now all postings in this group - unbelievable that this is not implemented yet.
Google Photos, Apple Fotos and even Lightroom Mobile have it but not the desktp app?????
It is a must and paying a monthly charge without this feature is unacceptable.
