I would like to switch to the new Lightroom CC, but being able to sort images in my collections/albums by Custom/User Order like I can in Classic is an absolute requirement for my workflow.

Migrated my iPhoto Library to Lightroom CC - works fine! One issue - maybe someone can help me. On my iMac it is not possible to sort the images by custom user order. Although I selected "User defined sort order" at the botton of the screen it is not possible to move an image. Any idea?

Custom order is a must, and it's just very frustrating that is not possible anymore to sort by custom order. Look at Google Photos, we can custom order in Albums only. It's brilliant...

We can "Archive" picture that we can see only in the album it's also Brillant

Frank, the iPad app's just been in development for a lot longer than the desktop one, so it had a head start. It's about the 14th most popular request in terms of votes, which could well explain why it hasn't hit the top of the priority list yet.

I can sort the photos with the iPad app but not with the PC software? That is crazy...  After sorting them on the iPad I can display them in the custom order on the PC app but can't change the order on the PC... that need to be fixed!

Heather, they don't pre-announce future releases, so I'm afraid I don't have a timeline to share with you.

Farhang, I am not on Adobe's payroll, and I'm neither defending nor attacking their decisions. I'm just telling you how it is. They're aware of all of these requests, whether you call them bugs or feature requests, and they're prioritizing, as I'm sure you do in your own development.

Displaying custom order is NOT a function. If it can't customize order, why would there be a function called custom order?! Lightroom CC for desktop is the MAIN application, there is no logic to expect a user to use a different app the customize the order you want to see in the main application....

This is clearly a bug, please stop justifying it as a real feature.

I am in software developing myself, I know the difference between a feature-request and bug-fixing! The functionality there is NOT working as designed. Because one CANNOT use the CUSTOM ORDER. You are assuming one has to use OTHER apps to do the custom ordering, this is similar to saying use Instagram to upload a photo into FB but do not expect FB to be able to upload as wel.

We pay $120 per YEAR for a professional application. This basic and VERY EASY TO DEVELOP function missing is just straight on to cry for. And you defending this behaviour and claiming  it's a "nice feature which will come one day" is just even more sad. I don't know if you actually work for Adobe, if you do so I think it is wise to send a link of this thread to the product owner or lead-dev....
