P: Assign People tags to pictures that were missed

Once the indexing has been completed and Lightroom CC has found all the potential faces, it would be nice to have the ability to add People Tags to pictures that were "missed" where no faces were recognized.  The idea of People Tags is to be able to search for people and generate all potential results.  Right now it's messy because you have to resort to keyword tags to identify people that were missed with facial recognition and makes searching and cataloging a tedious task.

It's been almost 3 years since the answer from Peter @ Adobe.

Still no feature to add people's tag when not recognised....

When people's faces are missing, it does not auto-detect that there are people.  Online tutorials show me that I should just click on the Add People button and highlight the person.  However, I cannot find the Add People button anywhere.  Any suggestions?  Thanks for your help!

Add faces (not people, and your image does not contain faces) is an option in Lightroom Classic. It does not exist in Lightroom desktop, so I merged this with the feature request.

I have the same issue, would love to tag the faces but does not seem possible

I have just imported a PSE catalog, via a LR Classic mergeof 90000 photos into LR Desktop.

These include several hundred pics from athletics, cycling and motor racing events with large crowds in the background. While LR Desktop is very good a recognising faces, including artworks and statues, it also wants me to identify names of individuals in crowds, which I neither want or am able to do.

Is there any way to remove single or groups of photos from the people/face analysis?

I am beginning to agree with you.  It would be nice if Adobe could make some comment, even if it is obly "we are not going to bother with manual tagging".

We all pay a fair amount for the various apps and it would be nice if we were recognised.

Laughed seeing this, because this thread is almost 5 years old.  If they aren't adding the capability in that amount of time it is never going to be added.

I just stopped using it all together.

I have migrated from LR Classic to LR CC and am, in general, pleased I made the move.

BUT, in LR Classic, I had the abilty to draw a box around a 'face' and tag it as a person.  Why cannot LR CC have the same feature?  It picks out faces with a reasonable degree of accuracy but badly lit or faces at an angle it misses and I need to have them tagged.

Will this be introduced any time soon?

I have many pictures for which i honestly do not see how the best AI on earth could ever identify the person.

Some examples include: the person is below or covered with water, the person's face is too much turning away or has a low hat (or hood, or helmet), the person is small & far in the picture, the person is simply turning his back on the picture (but you still want it tagged), the person has some objects partially in front of his face....

and in addition you have all the pictures where the person's face is upside down, for which i can hope that one day AI will recognise these correctly, but we're not there yet.

I too would like this feature added. I find Lightroom missing a lot of faces that are clear and easy to identifiy. It would be interesting to see what things make indexing look at a face and think...this is not a face... but the soccer ball at the bottom of the screen must be aunt Trina.
