P: Please add advanced keywords - controlled vocabulary

Lightroom CC and Keywords.
It appears that the CC version only has limited support for keywords. For those of us who have spent years collecting or building controlled vocabularies, this would be a critical requirement and is a potential game-changer in respect of migrating to the CC version. Dealing with 10,000 bird species in a variety of languages including scientific binomials ain't going to be fun in a flat keyword list. I recognise that for people who only want 'blue', 'sky', 'holiday' this won't be important, but for digital asset management it is pretty up there.
Support for a continuation of hierarchical controlled vocabularies would be much appreciated.

Even being able to sync flat keywords from new photos would be a massive improvement over what Lightroom syncs now (nothing).

Working in Classic and CC with Collections synchronised without this functionality is a bis problem for me too. Should I use the CC in a tablet to edit the pictures and then go back to the computer to add the keywords on the same image??? pretty annoying besides illogical. Please add this functionality.

Being able to add/edit keywords to photos in my Lightroom Classic through the web platform will be a huge game-changer for me and it's totally illogical for me as a consumer why this functionality is not already there. I strongly support work to be done in that area.

Consider Mylio. I believe it can synch flat keywords back and forth, and it works with Classic. Not so hot with DNGs for some reason, but worth looking at if you need to synch with a mobile device as it has far more control than CC.

I cannot tell (whoever, if anyone, at Adobe, is listening, or) you that this issue seriously screws with my workflow. Yes, I know all the stupid reasons for this (and you’d be angry too at this point after dealing with Adobe’s HORRIBLE customer support for the past forty-eight hours), but there has GOT to be a way to combine the features of Lightroom Classic that I need and rely on with the ability to sync keywords that only seems to happen in Lightroom CC. I am a photographer who has worked with Adobe products for more than two decades and this is driving me insane!

I concur with all the previous comment on this topic. Key wording is a fundemental tool for organising & locating images. I have +30k digital images collected over +15yrs and keywording is an essential part of my workflow.

I find the new lightroom cc on my iPad to be a very useful application for making initial edits, picking, rating & deleting images. The application synchronises these selections seamlessly with lightroom classic on my desktop. The one thing that is missing is the limited support for key wording between these application. Please consider reinstating full keyword support between lightroom cc & lightroom classic.

Possibly true but I can't believe that existing Lightroom users who value the Classic features don't make up a significant proportion of the user base. If that is the case then Adobe should at least be giving us a roadmap so that we have some reassurance about the future.

I agree this is a fundamental issue. I use the two Lightrooms together and keep a close eye and understanding on the syncing behaviour. Honestly I'm okay waiting for the product to mature and I know that the transition is not ready for everyone - that includes me.

I just cannot imagine a world where the new Lightroom CC doesn't support Hierarchical Keywords and the syncing (or even a one time migration) from Classic. It makes me nervous to think that this data I've put a lot of work into has no future at Adobe. Tell me it's on a road map and I'll patiently wait.

The lack of assurance from Adobe actually sends out the message to Classic users that they don't care about them.

The ability to sync keywords between the CC and Classic versions of LR is FUNDAMENTAL! I can't believe that this product was released with such a major flaw. I read one "official" comment that Classic and CC are addressing different markets. If that is the case then those of us who use the Classic version with CC mobile for remote working MUST have assurance from Adobe that this omission will be resolved and that the Classic version has an ongoing long-term development plan.
