P: Please give me a switch to turn off sync.

I take photos on my iPhone and I want to chose 1 to edit and then post where I chose.  I do not want to auto sync every photo I take with the app.  I have to put my phone in airplane mode to stop this process.  Otherwise my slow DSL upload is all clogged up by this app uploading everything I take.  Please give me a switch to disable the auto sync on the iphone.

That's a slightly different request Julie (a pause button for sync, vs. this request for selective sync). If you'd like to open it as a separate thread, I'd be very pleased to vote on it, as the tethering scenario is one I run in to frequently too.

This is the problem - the app assumes that if its connected to a wifi then there is. Unlimited data. However there are many reasons (like teathering an ipad to a phone whilst abroad) that a wifi will not be unlimited. Therefore it is important to be able to switch of syncing in the iOS version until a point in time (or connection) where the user is happy to sync. You have allowed for mobile data that is intrinsic to a device but have not allowed for those that use mobile data via other means. All it needs is a pause sync button - just like the desktop version

Yes, a global sync pause is all I need, or have ever asked Adobe for on this subject.

A global sync pause button would be the most obvious direction. I imagine that selective syncing would be more complex to implement and manage (when the user has an issue).

We really need this, why can't it be done? It's been a long wait for something that seems way less complex than all the other updates.

I agree, the app works far better than the native photo app on an iPhone, but I to have limited internet bandwidth and would like a local wifi sync directly to Lightroom desktop or a tethered method. I can get the photos off with iTunes but a streamlined workflow would be nice.

I most definitely also need this.  It's so silly that EVERY photo gets synced.  Some are photos I want to work on in Lightroom CC on my desktop, but some are just snapshots.  And like the OP, the sync--the very slow sync--completely destroys my internet to where I can barely even bring up a web page.  And this is on high-speed cable.

If you cannot do selective photo syncing, at least you could give us a On/Off or Pause, so that the syncing does not start as soon as I get into Wifi, with not control on my end.

I am converting this to an Idea (Feature Request) instead of a problem.

If you use the LR app's capture capabilities, it will sync automatically. If you use the native camera app, it will work as Victoria describes.  Others who wish this feature can then add their votes.
