Not only photoshop, all of softwares by adobe.

Many artists who using adobe products don't want to using & supporting generative ai at all.

we have rights to opt-out from these things like generative ai tools in software, unwanted ads and nofitications.

You have the option to turn AI tools off and on yourself.

The best and most used AI tool I use is canvas expand and filling in an area with similar pixels. I don't see an issue with what probably most people use. I don't see why a small option bar you can hide is an issue. The major issue with AI is the connotation of the word and not what it does. I have abosolute confidence Adobe is making the right decisions as to the implementaion of "AI." Perhaps the word needs to be changed for the purposes of making people feel easy about it. It is not going away and it will only get more helpful. The chose os using AI or not should not be placed on Adobe, but the individual user. Just like anything you find helpful or harmful in everything in life. You have a chose and you have choses whether to do something ethical or not. Implementing time saving options that isn't infringing on anyone else's rights is an important practice that has been the root of any new software or tool. When Photoshop came out hacky people used it and lens flared or filtered almost every document you saw in print and elsewhere. Eventualy the better more creative artists found a way to use the tools to make better images.

You have the option to turn AI tools off and on yourself.

How long we have to wait for this opt-out feature on air?

New firefly ads on home of creative cloud desktop is very uncomfortable.

Not true, the model is trained if you use Adobe Firefly when uploading reference images as I noticed this later on which now if I'm not mistaken costs credits. Generative AI has its pluses but I don't depend on it in any of my work especially when contracts are involved. I've tested it out on some Google images with adding more textures for a bigger canvas etc but never claimed it as my own work

This is 100% false David. Adobe is not using your images and data to train their Generative AI.

Adobe’s continued commitments

Our commitments to our customers have not changed.

  • Adobe does not train Firefly Gen AI models on customer content. Firefly generative AI models are trained on a dataset of licensed content, such as Adobe Stock, and public domain content where copyright has expired. Read more here: https://helpx.adobe.com/firefly/faq.html#training-data
  • Adobe will never assume ownership of a customer's work. Adobe hosts content to enable customers to use our applications and services. Customers own their content and Adobe does not assume any ownership of customer work.

Given the terrible quality of generativeAI, and the ridiculous file sizes its current implementations generate, we should be able to choose versions of the Apps that have NO GenAI IN THEM AT ALL.

The 'ghost' genAI images in the InDesign links panel is the final straw.

Get rid of the blatant AI features to generate images and prompts and I'm good

@davescm Yes! that's what i saying. I have no problem with other ai tools like seleting object or something  but "generative ai" is very unwelcome.

@ John35281313 I've merged your thread with an ongoing idea thread (linked by Stephen) to keep these ideas together.

I work in a school and this would be incredibly helpful for our photography students (GCSE and A Level) who are under strict guidelines from examination boards and moderators. To be able to prove everything is their own work is really important. IMHO, they also need to learn to walk before they can run - to understand what goes on under the hood, so to speak. (As an aside, l recently bought myself a new iPad and have been playing around on it this morning in PS for iPadOS. It baffles me that there is no basic radial gradient option, but that you could potentially use generative AI to create one?! Like making me drive to the local shops in a Hummer when all I wanted to do was walk...) So, yes an option to choose (and prove) would be very welcome.
