AI fill also for 3D spherical view

Usecase: you export an equirectangualar panorama e.g. from Midjourney to Photoshop and want to create a seamless entire 360 sphere out of it. You want to blend in both edges in each other or want to create AI input in the picture: currently it does not blend in the actual layer but creates another layer above that is not attached to the sphere.

It would be great if I can use the generative fill in the 3D view and this fill stays attached to the panoramic sphere.

3D creation will be an very important topic here -> e.g. for using this as HDRI backdrop in Unreal Engine

Photoshop should be THE tool for that.

Best,

Markus

Hi @markus31954893xloj unfortunately Photoshop EOL 3D support with version 22.1 and moved on to use Adobe Substance for 3D rendering models. Gen Fill for 3D is a good idea but more likely to show in Substance before PS.

The whole point of HDRI backdrops for lighting is that those are 16 bit per channel or 32 bit per channel for the high dynamic range lighting to work properly.

Midjourney only generates 8 bit per channel, so I ask: what is the point of generating those in Midjourney?

Photoshop's generative fill is also only 8bit per channel, btw, so again useless for HDRI editing.

( PS And then there's the issue that Photoshop's 16bit mode is only 15bit per channel (plus 1 bit), which means a 16bit HDRI opened in Photoshop immediately loses half its data. I'd rather have that fixed first!)
