"apply image" or "hi pass" filter on photoshop for iPad?

Since a lot of people like using frequency seperation from time to time as a means of retouching their images, I was wondering if either of those 2 options is in the works?

@jpp917 – I don't use Ps on the iPad... Do the iPad version layers and blend modes equally compare to the regular desktop version?

High Pass is not the best method for frequency separation, so Apply Image would be better... But I'm guessing that adding a HP filter would be a far simpler route for development (simpler, not better).

It is possible to make a faux frequency separation using layers, such as in this layer panel example where I have named the layers for clarity. No Apply Image or High Pass filtering was used. The only filter used was Gaussian Blur, which I presume does exist in the iPad version:

One can of course just have the High Frequency and Low Frequency layers without using a layer group for the HF layers, I just presented it that way to show the incremental build of the layer stack to approximate the use of Apply Image or High Pass.

A different view for new development would not be to add old tools/methods to a new app/approach such as a tablet – but to *abstract* such methods, leverage them under the hood without needing to make them available or visible to the user. The healing tools are an example of this, they are just used without needing to prepare the file in a special way beforehand.
