Auto color button on Color balance tool

I’m using very often Auto Color (Shift-Ctrl-B) as starting point, but this is destructive edit only.

I would like to have “Auto” buton on Color Balance tool, same as is for Levels etc., so I could start with auto color and then continue with Color Balance editing nondestructively.

If you Alt click on the Levels Auto button and hold your mouse to the different settings it says that

Find Dark and Light Colors corresponds to clicking Image>Auto Color (Shift-Ctrl-B) with Snap to Neutral Midtones checked as well if you look at an action recorded using Image>Auto Color.

So for a non “destructive workflow” you could either turn your layer to a Smart Object and use Levels and Color Balance or use Levels and Color Balance Adjustments Layers.

Further if you don’t want to Alt click the Auto button all the time, you could record and action to make the Auto Color adjustment then open the Color Balance dialog.

well, that would be good workaround, thanks... but why not make it easier with just one button click on right tool instead of messing with another action and one tool more?

Shift + ctl + B does not give me that dialogue. I see what you’re after and it makes sense, but I’m not sure how you’re getting that dialog. If I go to the menu, image->adustments>color balance, there is no auto button. Same with layer masks. No auto button.

You probably read my post wrong.
I’m not saying I get that dialog with Ctrl+Shift+B, I’m just saying I’m using that shortcut.
Also I’m not saying there is a auto button. That is why a submitted feature request to add that auto button.
