Brush Feather Should Stay Inside Shape

PHOTOSHOP DEVS: I would like the brush feather to never exceed the brush shape. Currently the larger the feather gets, the more it exceeds the brush shape.  The reason why this is a problem is because I am using the brush shape as a guide when I mask. Since the feather exceeds the brush shape my mask is inaccurate.

 

If you want to give people an option you can have a checkbox or dropdown so they can determine the way the feather will work.

    In the meantime you could go to Preferences > Cursors and change the brush tip to 'Full Size'

      Hi!

      I totally agree. Sometimes when I am painting with a soft-edged brush, I have to guess where the actual edge is, and that can become very frustrating.
