Creating icons on layers represent blending mode

For speed and efficiency in files with many layers I think it would be incredibly helpful to have small icons on the layers (in the layer window) that indicate the blending mode of that layer. Would to minimize turning on and turning off layers to find the right one. 

Or alternatively, make it possible to assign a layer color to a blending mode that would change automatically when the blending mode is changed.
