Depth combine blend mode

   Could we have a special blend mode  you  typiclly could find in  compositing software  . Depth combine . deep combine , Height blend   whatever they call it.    You can find a formula in Blender compositing nodes  but basically  its like  "lighter"  or "Max"  blending mode  which outpit a mask  where  pixel of layer 1 is higher than layer2 .   

  Typically it's just (layer1 max layer2)-layer1 and some treshold on top of it  .  Perfectly  re-creatable  in Photoshop  by  doing a special clipping group stack .     But wouldn't it be much easier and convenient to just have a special blending mode doing so.
