Extendscript to read list of Character Styles and Paragraph Styles

Hello,

I am looking for API to read list of Character Styles and Paragraph Styles, in a Photoshop document. I am able to create Character Styles and Paragraph Styles using action manager code. While creating the styles I would like to check whether the character styles/paragraph styles with same name exists. I have read through all the topics related to this in the forums. The feature exists in Indesign and Illustrator but not in Photoshop

I would like to request Adobe to add this feature to their next release.
