Feature Request: Name Duplicated Layers, Duplicated Groups, and New Groups at Creation

Hi, is there any way you can record the use of a menu in the controller? The layers emenu options of new layer,... new group... duplicate group... default to rename.

Again, this boils down to a common issue: one can't change the KBSC if it is not listed, as is the case on most Alt+menus to get the rename option.

scripting might be an interim solution, but IMHO, it is something that should be changed in Photoshop.(not a preference to get to rename layers, but the availability of all interactions in the KBSC editor.

Hi, I'd very much like to have an available setting in preferences where, when I duplicate a layer, duplicate a group, or on creating a new group (cmd+g), said layer or group's name defaults to an edit state and the next required action is typing the name of the new layer or new group. This would save a lot of keystrokes in a day!

Thanks, I realize that. I use mapped keyboard shortcuts on a controller for efficiency. The goal is to hit one button. Even when not using that method, I think it still makes a lot of sense to give users the option to turn on the feature I'm suggesting. 

How exactly are you creating new groups, or duplicates etc?

Depending on the method either adding or not adding the OPT/ALT key modifier will offer a window to edit or not edit the name, depending on it's default behaviour.
