Feature Request: Single-Click Placement for CC Libraries (Similar to Actions "Button Mode")

I use CC Libraries heavily for assets, but having to constantly drag-and-drop or right-click to place them slows down the workflow—especially when compositing repeatedly.

Right now, getting an item onto the canvas requires:

  1. Drag-and-drop (defaults to a Linked Smart Object), or

  2. Right-click -> choose Place Linked or Place Layers.

I exclusively use Place Layers because I need to edit the components immediately. Going through the right-click menu every single time adds up to a lot of friction.

So I’d like to suggest the following:
Introduce a streamlined placement mode inside the Libraries panel—similar to how Button Mode works in the Actions panel.

  • Single-Click to Place: Simply clicking an asset in the panel instantly drops it into the active document.

  • Default Placement Settings: A panel option or toggle to set your preferred default behavior for single-clicks:

    • Place Layers

    • Place Linked

    • Place Embedded Smart Object

  • Modifier Keys: Alternatively, simple shortcuts like Click = Default behavior, and Alt/Option + Click = Secondary behavior (e.g., toggle between Linked vs. Layers).

This small quality-of-life tweak would make pulling assets from the library feel instantaneous.

There’s a feedback option in the pop-out menu.  I’d support anything that adds functionality to the Libraries panel.
