Feedback regarding changes to changing brush hardness.
Dear Adobe Support,
I’m writing to express my concern and frustration regarding a recent change made to Photoshop CC. As a long-time user and supporter of Adobe products, I’ve always appreciated the powerful tools and capabilities your software provides. However, this recent update has significantly impacted my workflow and overall user experience.
Specifically, I’m unhappy with the following:
- I used to be able to Alt + right mouse button drag to change the brush hardness, this has been altered to change brush opacity, something that I could already do by pressing a number key.
- There appears to be no way to reverse this feature or an alternative quick and easy method to change the brush hardness, so I have lost an extremely convenient feature of PSCC.
- I am disturbed that this feature appeared without apparent warning, and I spent a significant time trying to fix what I thought was either a fault or a corrupted preference setting.
While I understand the need for innovation and evolution, many of this change feels like it was implemented without sufficient input from your user base. Photoshop is a vital part of my creative process, and it's disheartening to see it moving in a direction that feels less intuitive and more restrictive.
I urge Adobe to reconsider this change, or at least offer users more flexibility in how updates are applied and features are accessed. Transparency, user choice, and performance should remain top priorities.
Thank you for your time and for considering this feedback.
Sincerely,
Dave Stokes.
