Firefly repeatedly misunderstands prompts, wasting users' credits

Hello,

I am very dissatisfied with your new subscription plans.

I recently realized that the increase in my subscription price, which I thought was justified by the AI features in Photoshop Beta, and which amounts to an extra €6 per month, is actually not paying for the AI services at all.

Let me be clear: I will never spend a single cent on an AI that never understands anything.

You expect users to pay for AI credits—if it can even be called an AI—when it is incapable of doing even the simplest tasks.

For example, the last time I tried to use it, I asked it to fill a hole in a bride's wedding dress train.

The result? The AI simply removed the entire train.

Even without entering any prompt, your AI just removes the train altogether.

Even though it offers three different variations, all three are practically identical, making them completely unusable.

And yet you have the nerve to charge users for credits for something that almost never works and constantly misunderstands what is being asked?

As for me, I will never waste my money on this ridiculous thing.

Congrats, you’ve just discovered that gen AI is a giant slot machine! This is inherent to the nature of LLMs/generative AI. This will never go away! This is part of how this software works, it’s just regurgitating a mash-up of the training data it was fed based on what the highest probability that it thinks you want is. This is true regardless of it being an Adobe product.

Let me say this again: ALL AI - ALL artificial intelligence, including Firefly - is just guessing at what you want. It is a probability machine. It is incredibly expensive to run.

Until now, tokens have been massively subsidized by AI companies to gain market share. After you’re hooked, they jack up the prices. The “raise prices” phase is happening now. It’s only going to get more expensive, and the very nature of AI means you are just pulling the slot machine lever and hoping that it gives you something close enough to work with.

My advice: take 10 minutes to learn how to use the Clone tool in Photoshop, and clone out things like rips in a bridal gown easily, yourself. Then you won’t be at the mercy of token pricing. AND you can downgrade to the cheaper Adobe Suite! Win-win!
