Hide formats

I wish there were an option in Photoshop to hide or filter file format choices in the “Save As” dialog, so that only selected formats — for example PDF, TIFF, and JPG — are shown.

It would make the saving process cleaner and more efficient.

This could be scripted, similar to the Adobe Image Processor script.

I would agree with that. Upvoted.

It would also be useful to choose a default from the three formats that support all Photoshop functions, PSD, PSB and TIFF.  I'm hitting the 2 GB limit so often that I'd like to have PSB as default and be done with it.

That said, I'm not sure how simple this is to implement. We've always been told that Open/Save are operating system dialogs, not Photoshop dialogs. On the other hand, this can apparently be controlled from the outside e.g. in the Lightroom Classic preference for "Edit In".
