How to switch back to legacy Adjustments panel?

After updating 24.5, the Adjustments panel automatically changed to a new mode after restartup.
For me, these functions are not useful,I want to switch back to the legacy style.
How to do it?

---update---

Since there is no restoration option until 24.6, I found someone on the Internet who shared the manual restoration method.
If you want to restore and never want to use the new adjustments panel again,
just delete or move this folder to other place :Adobe Photoshop 2023\Required\UXP\com.adobe.photoshop.adjustments-panel

I do not understand such a simple thing, why the development team refused to provide.

There are several threads on this subject now, so I am not sure if I have mentioned it here.

If you run with List view and make the window just big enough to display the Adjustment Layers, but not the presets, then the first time you use the panel you simply have scroll down once with the scroll wheel on your mouse, and the presets are hidden.

What is annoying for me, is that I have now four times lost all of the icons in the Adjustments panel in the beta version.  The last time it happened I was able to retrieve the icons just by restarting PS 24.7, but it happened again a few minutes ago, and after several failed attempts to fix it by restarting PS, I had to reset Preferences 'AGAIN!'

What does look promising is that the icons are back to their original size in 24.7 when in Classic view mode.

Oh, and my icons have gone AGAIN!!

This is getting really annoying.

Running 24.7.0 Release.. I can say that "Classic" is much easier to work with. Like many here, I had no use for the other options that were crammed into it.

What I can't figure out is why here, as in many other places, the available space is completely wasted.
For example, I count 5 categories with 31 adjustment presets that are available. Then a second dropdown allows for custom presets to be added as well. But you can't get rid of one of the two if you just want one of them which can make for a horribly long and clunky list with constant expanding and contracting of folders if someone were to make regular use of just a few of the presets. Even worse, given the space that I have allocated for Adjustments, scrolling is horrid. Just about every notch on my scrollwheel renders a single preset with half of a preset showing above and below.

In general, it seems to me that when new features are created, they're tossed in without much thought about how it addects the workspace. So instead of utilizing that huge blank space on the right half of the main toolbar, a new feature is just dropped in haphazardly, wrecking my workflow. Prior to that, the context-based floating toolbar was added that has to be there if I want to utilize the new background removal tool. Floating wouldn't be too bad but it can't be docked anywhere for some bizarre reason. I have space on a verticle toolbar that would be ideal for it but to can't be done. The toolbar itself can't be modified so half of the space used by it is for tools I don't use.

Why can't that be added to the top toolbar? Or a verticle custom toolbar? Yes, the main toolbar resizes depending on the tool being used, but even with the longest set of options, there is room...especially if I could remove a couple of the tools that aren't used. (Transform image, another create an adjustment layer, and a button that simply highlights the properties panel and presents some text telling you it's there...". And if I could dock and customize this toolbar, that would be cool......

I never could master keyboard shortcuts despite over 20 years using photoshop...but it's probably because it's only one of 20 different packages that I use in a day and represents only a small fraction of my overall machine time. It would be fantastic to be able to place a rotation button on the toolbar to use instead of EDIT>Transform>Rotate.

I'm sure that most people are excited about new tools. I certainly am. Sometimes they're more useful than others depending on how each person uses Photoshop. But as more are added, making efficient use of the space becomes even more critical.I think what is really needed is a fully customizable toolbar similar to the left-hand toolbar that can be a one-click launch of any menu item and/or key combination. Layer>Layermask>Reveal All, could be a single click. Filter>Blur>Gaussian Blur, could be a single click. It could be placed on the bottom, on the top beneath the main toolbar, on the left, or on the right, wherever it works best for the user. It would save a ton of time - especially for casual users like me who can only manage a handful of keyboard combinations.

As for this particular feature, there needs to be an ability to customize the adjustments panel. As it is, if one wanted to maybe have a couple of presets, custom or not, but have no need for all 31 of them, the entire workspace on the right has to be re-configured, taking up space from the layers and the top section. What would really be nice is to slim the existing panel a bit and then allow for a handful of presets to be added to it. This is kind of what I'm thinking....
Note the use of color, each signifying one of the 5 groups to make it easier to readily identify the presets without the need for text. This takes up exactly the same amount of space being used by the adjustments panel alone right now. As it is, the adjustments are bunched up to the left with space to the right. Why not use that space? Yes, I get that the width changes depending on what other panels are in that column but surely this could be worked a little more efficiently.

Anyways, I'm probably spinning my wheels here but this has been bugging me for quite some time. I just see more and more clutter and really would like to see some improved UI customization.

Hello everyone! Thank you all for patiently waiting. We have built the "Classic view" into the adjustments panel. You can access it via the flyout menu of the adjustment panel. This will switch it back to the original layout with only the adjustments icons. Hope you enjoy this addition.

We have also released in Beta the functionality for you to save your own adjustments presets on the panel, but it is only accessible via the "Modern View". If you find yourself always applying the same effects to your images, feel free to give this feature a try via the Beta app. No more creating actions for adjustments!

Please let me know what else we can improve for you.

Thank you,

Fiona Yu

Adobe could avoid the UI problems and user backlash if they simply opened up the UI customization similar to how Cinema 4D handles things (i.e. fully customizeable with included default layouts).  Now that would be modern.

Looking at the June 30 version of the 24.7.0 beta I think we've got a workable solution. They've given us a "Classic view" and "Modern view" (nice jab at us oldies, haha). The icons are back to the original size in Classic and even bigger in the new Modern view. I can live with this! Thanks!

Eagerly awaiting a fix for this so just adding my voice to the chorus. As others have said, the previous Adjustments panel was absolutely fine. The "presets" are for beginners and get in the way, the new icons waste more space, and who would ever use list view. This reminds me of so many other infamous UI 'enhancements' that nobody wanted and that impeded workflow. Please can we just revert? The old joke has never been more true: "What's the most useful feature of Photoshop? Enable Legacy..."

Really can't stand the wasted space.  I'll never use the presets and want the UI space back.  Not sure who thought it would be a good idea to force this on users without a way of removing it but please don't let them make any future UI decisions.

Hello Adobe --- This sucks!  These AI motivated "Adjustments Presets" might be fine for someone who wants to make crappy interpretations of their pictures, but for serious printmaking having these appear as a default simply sucks.  Distracting, takes up real estate -- just garbage.  Make an option to hide Adjustment Presents for the Adjustment interface and do it ASAP.

Thank you FionaYu for considering adding back a Legacy Icons View. I’m glad I’m not the only one who misses the large icons and does not welcome the intrusion of “presets” into our adjustment layers palette. To answer your questions,

Legacy Icons View

No text needed, just the palette with simple icons. I just hover a bit if I need labels.

Size of Legacy Icons

No need for a scaling bar if they are the same size as they were before the v24.5 change.

Create Custom Presets

If there are going to be presets available (in an entirely separate palette, of course) then custom presets are a natural extension to that. Users are going to want to tweak the built-in ones or create their own (that would be me). Custom presets could be added to the presets palette, but definitely not in the legacy icons view.
