Idea: Concerning auto updates

I'd go back to using auto-update IF I was notified when the update happened, and was provided with info on what changed. (Apologize in advance if this exists and I just haven't found it). It's extremely aggravating when rote skills you've been using for decades suddenly don't work, such as the Free Transform debacle (thank you for providing the legacy preference). And because of muscle memory it's challenging to update to a new set of rote steps.

I'm a Photoshop user from the very first version. Back in the day every year or so you purchased the latest and greatest update. You knew going in things would change and you'd have to figure out all the new features. I finally turned off auto-updates from Creative Cloud because the velocity of change...and not knowing that something changed...has me pulling out my hair. (A common occurance over a lifetime with Microsoft product, but until recently never with Adobe).

Most of us out there aren't hobbyists. We make a living via Photoshop as a production tool. It costs us time and money when suddenly the toolbox is missing something vital, or it's been moved to a new box, or suddenly to operates very differently.

I do the following.

1. Turn off auto-updates

2. When informed of an update, check the release info before updating manually

https://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop/kb/fixed-issues.html

https://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop/kb/known-issues.html

3. On major versions (e.g v22 to v23) - set the CC app to keep the old version installed. I don't uninstall until I have throughly checked the new version, in fact I still have the last two versions installed on my main PC and several before that on a second PC.
