Link path and image when moving to another document

Not sure why this still isnt a function - but the path needs to stay with the image when you move the image to another document. The path also needs to resize and rotate with the image. Currently the way to do this is very long (making vector masks) - when a simple link path to it's image function would be super useful and save me a lot of time.

As a product photographer, I need to combine seperate product psds (each with their own paths) into 1 photo and need all the paths to come with the images and resize to their images in the new document. Right now this process is long and stressful. 

A simple link path to image function would be amazing.
