In Photoshop, it'd be great to see a little bubble with a zoomable view of where the pen tool is clicking. It would help improve accuracy. The alternative is to zoom in, which requires a lot of panning while trying to lay down the path. It adds time to the process.

Hi!
There is a built-in interface like this in the now defunct Shake Reduction, but also in the Adaptive Wide angle, note that both of these tools live in their own interface.

In the mean time, have you considered the following: open a new view of your image (Window>New window for [document], that you can set to fit, while you work on the other window at 100% magnification.

Or to use the accessibility features of your OS?

On mac os: Apple menu > System Preferences, click Accessibility then Zoom, you can check it in order to zoom with CTRL+Two fingers up on the trackpad. very useful for presentations. https://support.apple.com/guide/mac-help/mh40579/mac
