Make the Layers Panel stop scrolling up to the top when a jpg copy is saved

I have files that are composed of over a hundred layers, and when I save a copy as a jpg, the layers pannel resets, putting the layers scroll bar up to the top. And it then takes me a lot of time to scroll down to find where I was at. It breakes the train of thought, and seriously disrupts the workflow. I cant imagin any reason why it would be set to do that.

Can you guys fix this issue.

Thanks in advance,

A work around could be to use the "layer bookmark" script that I created to set and get a specific bookmarked layer:

The "set" and "get" scripts can be recorded into an action or have keyboard shortcuts assigned for easy access.

As far as i can tell, this behavior started back in Photoshop 7 (circa 2002)

I guess Photoshop does that in order to show flattened document in order to get an accurate preview of the jpeg before saving.

I certainly agree that it's frustrating not having the layers panel go back to the position it was before the save.

Yep. I have the same issue. No solution in the two and ahalf years since this was first posted...

Maybe it's a feature?
