Multithreaded psd / psb file save compression

Hello everyone!
I am a retoucher and to speed up things I do my work disabling file compression while saving.
When the job is done and approved, I made an action to just open the file select a group of layers and then it saves the file.

Quite happy about the result in terms of time wasted while working, which is almost done, but this way I make the life of my NVME shorter and I lose a lot of time running the final action and archiving the files.

I know PS can save in background while we work but we cannot create smart object till the saving process is ended. So almost every image I am stuck for 2 minutes.
I have 5950x and it is a shame I cannot use the full potential of my CPU, but even the cheap cpus have 8 threads now.

Please let me know what you think about it
Thank you

The lore I've read is that there are computer science reasons why the open / close operations can't be threaded. At least when the files use compressions (which isn't option with PSB, and which most people insist on with PSD).

I don't know if this is true. Someone I know who is a photographer and imaging engineer doubts it. I'd love it if someone who actually knows the answer could speak up. This has been a bottleneck forever. It's cause for mob justice if Adobe is just too lazy to update ancient code.
