New Auto Select option - sibling group

I often use nested groups to organise layers and content within the layers panel.

example:-

group:navigation bar

group: button1

layer: button1 shape

group: button2

layer: button2 shape

group: button3

layer: button3 shape

when using the Auto Select option "Group" the upper most parent group is selected but it would be useful for me to have options "parent group"(upper most group) and "sibling group" (this items group) or something with similar wording.  so I can auto select just the indiviual button group instead of the navigation bar group.
