New file not defaulting to size of clipboard

When creating a new image, Photoshop used to set the canvas size to the size of the item on the clipboard. At some point this changed. While it still does show "Clipboard" as selected, the actual width and height seem to be whatever they were before, until I click "Clipboard".

After years of working as a web developer, the muscle memory for "Copy Merged, File, New, Enter, Paste" is extremely strong and this change is driving me absolutely bannanas.

Am I alone here?

Hi, I do not see it listed here: https://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop/kb/fixed-issues.html but it might be fixed? can anyone with 23.5 confirm/deny, before I forget to test it at home? 😊

Hi

This issue has already been reported and will be fixed in a future release, there's also workarounds in this thread
