Option to close gaps in selections in lightroom/camera raw/photoshop

In case I would like to lighthen some sector of greens in a photo, I can select by color and tone. For instance, I can select greens for selecting the grass, but would not select the red flowers in it. But it would be unnatural to lighten only the grass, I would also light the flowers and anything in that sector. I would like an option to fill those gaps in the selecction.
