Overall photoshop improvements for better workflow
Here’s some features that would be of great use for many workflows out there:
- Whenever editing a text, be it paragraph or point text, if we want to resize it proportionally while the text layer is open, we have to press CTRL+ALT+SHIFT. It would be lot better if that could be changed to CTRL+ALT like it was previously in photoshop 2019.
- Tool Presets should save settings for tools. 1 month ago, I tried making a tool preset to quickly switch between Remove Tool with Generative AI and without Generative AI, but the settings weren’t saved, seems like only the size of it is saved.
- Actions should be able to record what Generative model you used… currently, if you record a action and do a Generative Fill, it works just fine, but whenever you play that action, the generative model always default to the last one you used.
- Regarding Layer Styles:
- Would be great to have a way of doing a gradient Outer Glow just like Gradient Overlay works, from one side to another. - GPU acceleration for more text operations
- Variables inside actions:
- Instead of, for example, Font Size = 45, make a option so it increases the text size by a variable number you set on the action, like: Increase Font Size by 2 | Scale Layer by 110% | Reduce Leading by 10% - Maybe make some filters from Filter Gallery work on layers with single color… Many options in there needs the layer to have at least 2 colors.
- When turning a text layer to a shape layer, if the text had glyphs that were ligatures, you can’t move them apart/edit separately when they are turned into shape.
- Would be great for the selection tools to have smoothing, so we can make more precise selections if we want.
- Better UXP API coverage:
- Many Photoshop features remain inaccessible to plugins. Expose APIs for
- Layer Styles
- Text Engine
- AI features
- Actions
- Tool settings
- Contextual Task Bar
That’s all I can think about for know, I really hope at least some of those gets implemented!
